Privacy notice

How we collect, use and look after personal information, and the rights you have over it.

Last updated: 2026.

Who we are

South East Party Walls is the controller of the personal information described here. Contact us at ivan@southeastpartywalls.co.uk or by post at Newhaven Road, Selhurst, London SE25 6JQ.

What we collect

  • Enquiries: your name, email address, phone number, the property address or postcode, and what you tell us about the work or the notice you have received.
  • Party wall matters: names and addresses of the owners involved, ownership information from HM Land Registry, drawings and calculations, photographs and notes taken during inspections and schedules of condition, and our correspondence.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote: to take steps at your request before entering a contract, and our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries.
  • To act on a party wall matter: to perform our contract with you, and to carry out the duties the Party Wall etc. Act 1996 places on appointed surveyors.
  • To keep proper records of our work: our legal obligations and our legitimate interest in being able to deal with questions, claims and insurance matters.

Who we share it with

The Act requires notices, schedules of condition and awards to be served on the owners involved, so information about a matter is shared with the other owners and their surveyors. We also use trusted providers for email, file storage and, once it is connected, the website enquiry form. We may share information with our professional advisers and insurers. We do not sell personal information.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not go ahead are deleted after 12 months. Records of party wall matters are kept for 15 years, because questions about building work can arise years later.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, delete it or restrict how we use it, object to our use of it, or ask for it to be transferred. Contact us using the details above. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
